Based on the many reviews here stating these are fakes, I ordered another pair directly from Nike/Converse and the new pair did not have the same problems. They do run a bit big, I am normally an 8, sometimes a 7.5, and got these in a 7 and they are perfect. They are so cool! Will just update if I encounter any problems with it. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. So when i found theses shoes that actually have my size it was like it was my birthday! As far as the lift that the platform provides, I think it's about 3/4 inch. I LOVE these shoes. Except for being too narrow, this is a quality shoe. Rating these on a scale of 1-10? So my advice is order the same size of what you normally wear in converse, or a half size down of what you normally wear in other shoes. I have wide feet and always knew converse shoes were too narrow for me.
The thicker sole gave these more cushion than regular converse. Well, they are Chucks, and then some.

They are much more comfortable than the regular ones. These look great and me being shorter love the platform aspect. We both put an extra insole in them for extra comfort. Def worth the price as well.

I do feel like these run large but very slightly large normally in sneakers I wear an 8 1/2 but these I ordered a 9 and I still don’t think the shoe is a full half size larger so I’m glad I ordered the half size up because they are perfect ! Converse all star sneakers have never been known for arch support because there is no arch support I still find them comfortable I’m not flat footed nor do I have a super high arched foot but I never had a problem wearing my chucks all day regardless of the no arch support.
I have a wide foot, but knowing these are made for men I knew they may be a little wider than Woman's and they were; so the Men s Medium fit perfect. The soul of the shoe should not give out faster than the bottom of the shoe. They are very unique - I've never seen anyone else with this pair. I agree with everyone else though, Converse needs to make a lot more styles because these ROCK! Wish they came with an extra set of laces though, always get so DIRTY so FAST. I can never find shoes that one fit my feet right and two don't look like children's shoes. I know you are saying “sneakers with a dress? If you’ve never worn chucks, just remember they’re really slim and totally flat as far as sneakers go. Best way to clean the rubber is with a magic eraser to keep them white all season long :).
